Dalija Aćin Thelander Receives the City of Stockholm Award for Work in Culture with Children and Youth

We are delighted to share the news that artist and choreographer Dalija Aćin Thelander has received the City of Stockholm award for her outstanding contribution to work in the field of culture for children and young people.

Dalija Aćin Thelander is one of the key authors who has opened space for the development of contemporary performing practices for the youngest audiences, and an artist who has significantly contributed to the development and affirmation of art for babies and young children. We would especially like to highlight her contribution to establishing and developing the “Baby Stage” in Serbia, which has created space for innovative, inclusive, and artistically relevant productions for the earliest age groups.

At the Little Theatre “Duško Radović” , she has realized several important projects that have left a strong mark on the development of programs for young audiences:
• The Book of Wandering (premiere: June 4, 2008)
• Who Would Want a Mother Like Mine? (premiere: January 24, 2010)
• Some Very Important Things (premiere: June 15, 2010)

Her latest project, Gentle Forces of the Cosmos, an immersive dance performance for babies aged 6 to 24 months, as well as for children with developmental disabilities and disabilities, premiered on October 4, 2024, and represents a continuation of her dedicated exploration of early childhood art.
