It Was Quite a Season!

We rushed from rehearsals to premieres and guest performances, traveled with our productions, won awards, talked with children and young people, met new audiences, and once again confirmed that theatre is at its best when something is always happening on and around the stage.

And this season, a lot happened.

During the 2025/2026 season 258 performances were staged at the Little Theatre “Duško Radović” attracting approximately 40,000 audience members. Since October the production If Bees Disappeared from the Face of the Earth has been performed as many as 24 times, congratulations to the entire team!

Five Premieres, Five New Worlds

We opened the season with the children’s production Treasure Island followed by the premieres of Lola, Mila and the Tooth Fairy, Little Frida and The Crocodile produced by Opera Lab.

On the Radović Evening Stage If Bees Disappeared from the Face of the Earth, directed by Anja Suša had its premiere. The production confirmed that theatre for young people and adults does not have to choose between important themes, contemporary expression, and an exciting stage experience.

This year we also celebrated an important milestone 40 years of the Radović Evening Stage. Since Mystery… Belgrade the production that opened the stage on 7 March 1986 it has remained a space for free thinking, artistic risk-taking and new theatrical languages.

Our Productions Kept Moving

There was plenty of travelling.

Kraljevo, Zrenjanin, Aleksinac, Lazarevac, Ivanjica, Sombor, Bečej, Skopje, Zagreb, Sarajevo, Brčko, Banja Luka, Podgorica, Danilovgrad… And those journeys brought awards as well.

Charlie’s Fate won the award for Best Performance at the ZIPO Festival in Aleksinac. Ana Tomović received the award for Best Direction, while Jelena Petrović was honoured for her portrayal of Violeta.

Tesla was declared Best Performance at the First International Festival of Theatre for Children in Danilovgrad.

A Fairytale of the Silent Prince and the Sad Princess returned from Banja Luka with two awards Aleksandar Nikolić received the award for Best Direction, while Mladen Vuković won an acting award for his roles in the production.

And In the Ceiling the Stars Are Shining enjoyed an especially successful festival season.

In Sarajevo it won the Avaz Dragon Award for Best Overall Performance, as well as the Audience Award. In Brčko Julija Petković and Mina Nenadović received the award for Best Actress, while Sunčica Milanović was named Best Young Actress.

At the 7th FAS Festival in Zrenjanin In the Ceiling the Stars Are Shining was proclaimed Best Performance by both the participants’ jury and the educators’ jury.

At the Zvezdarište Theatre Festival it won the Grand Prix and the Children’s Jury Award. Tijana Grumić received an award for dramatization, while Mina Nenadović was named Actress of the Festival.

The Doors of Radović Were Wide Open

The Radović Evening Stage hosted performances by Ana & The Changes, as well as Duda Buržujka while the project The Gift of Diversity concluded with a concert that brought together artists from Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina. Students of the Stevan Puzić Grammar School from Ruma performed the musical The Addams Family, while Lungs premiered as part of the 21st FIST Festival.

We also hosted the First Odyssey Children’s Literature Festival, as well as the productions The Moon’s Guest and The Three Little Pigs by the Children’s Theatre of Republika Srpska from Banja Luka.

Our youngest audiences enjoyed Arči and Dora produced by Pčelica Publishing, while Gledališče Koper – Teatro Capodistria brought Pinocchio for children and The Indian Wants the Bronx for adult audiences.

Theatre Does Not End When the Curtain Falls

Throughout the season we organised numerous drama, visual arts, and interactive programmes with children and young people.

We talked about how a performance is created, learned theatre etiquette, discovered kamishibai through play and explored every corner of the theatre.

At visual arts workshops led by artist and art educator Danica Radumilo, children transformed motifs from performances into their own images, ideas, and stories.

An Opportunity for a New Generation

During the year auditions were organised for young actors for the productions Lola, Mila and the Tooth Fairy and If Bees Disappeared from the Face of the Earth.

We wanted to offer young artists an open, equal, and professional opportunity to demonstrate their talent.

We Are Not Closing the Season. Just Taking a Short Break.

The new season at Radović begins in mid-September while the first premiere on the Evening Stage will take place on 1 October. It will be Baal, adapted by Tijana Grumić and directed by Primož Ekart.

In December the Little Theatre Duško Radović  will become the centre of Serbian puppetry as host of the 57th Meeting of Professional Puppet Theatres of Serbia.

Tesla directed by Ivan Baletić will be performed at the 34th Kotor Festival of Theatre for Children taking place from 2 to 10 July. Treasure Island directed by Kokan Mladenović will be performed on 15 August at the 39th Bar Chronicle Festival, followed by performances on 17 and 18 August at the jubilee 40th Grad Teatar Budva Festival.

The summer tour concludes with Tesla, which will be performed on 29 August at Gledališče Koper – Teatro Capodistria.
