Two Awards for the Production “Tesla” at the Kotor Festival of Theatre for Children
The production “Tesla” by Malo pozorište “Duško Radović” received two significant awards at the 34th Kotor Festival of Theatre for Children.
The professional jury, consisting of Filip Etmišovski, Zoran Rakočević and Visar Kruša, presented Petar Lazarević with the award for Best Acting Performance for his portrayal of Tesla, while Srđan Marković received the award for his original work on the music for the production.
In the jury’s explanation of the award for Best Acting Performance, it was emphasized that Petar Lazarević’s vivid performance serves as an inspiration to all those seeking new points of reference in the character of Tesla ones that do not rely solely on biography, but open up space for deeper meanings and contemporary interpretations. Through his exceptional acting range, comic nuances and transformation, Petar Lazarević creates a charming theatrical portrayal of Tesla.
In the explanation of the award for original work on the music, the jury stated that the production’s comprehensive theatrical and musical form would be unimaginable without such a thoughtfully conceived composition, matched by the author’s inspired live musical performance. Srđan Marković is not only the composer, narrator and performer, but also a layer of meaning through which many interpretations of the production can be understood.
The Kotor Festival lasted nine days, with 15 productions presented as part of the theatre programme, alongside numerous programmes dedicated to children’s performing arts and educational and theoretical content. The festival officially closed with the awards ceremony on 10 July.
Congratulations to Petar Lazarević, Srđan Marković, and the entire creative and performing team of the production “Tesla”!
We would like to thank the Kotor Festival of Theatre for Children, the audience and the professional jury for the awards and the wonderful hospitality.
